Chinese New Year Celebrations in Singapore 6-7 feb08

The Chinese Lunar Year Celebrations went with great passion and fervor as always in Singapore last week. The CNY holidays were on 6th (thu) and 7th Feb (fri). Adding more to it was the long holiday weekend it became as the next two days were sat and sunday.

Its the start of the year of the "rat" in Chinese zodiac. A nice decorative light-up was done at the China town.

A lot of Singaporeans went to nearby get-away destinations like M'sia and Indonesia.

HISTORIC FLIGHT OF A380 SING TO SYDNEY

Singapore Airline is the proud owner of a new A380 the first in the world to add in its fleet.

The world's largest civilian aricraft. Its Maiden flight was on 25th octoberr 2007 from Singapore to Sydney. Lovingly called the SuperJumbo, people flocked at the airport to see its maiden flight take off at 8 am from Changi airport.

A380 is a double-decker jet as long as a soccer pitch and with a tail seven storeys high. It will be remembered as the biggest thing to hit aviation in over three decades.
